2011 Christmas Eve

So I never got a chance to post about our Christmas...
Lyla was SO funny this year!!
I am so glad that I video taped her opening presents!!!

We don't put any presents under the tree before Christmas morning...because "Santa" brings them. Gregg and I buy her things all month when she sees something she likes..and we tell her that is for Christmas from Mom and Dad...
This year Lyla loved watching the Grinch...which was OK with me because I will admit I love that movie!! Probably my all time fav Christmas movie!!

It also gave me the idea for our Christmas cards....
I wanted Lyla to have fun..I wanted her to get whatever it was that she wanted but I also wanted her to know that it wasn't "just about" getting ...It is about love, giving, and most of all Jesus. So we talked about Jesus and his mom and dad...how they traveled and traveled and had no where to stay...and that first and foremost we must praise Jesus and thank him for taking care of us. And all the gifts you get are blessings from God. Then this part of the movie just stuck out to me as it was ending:

I made sure Lyla knew that..
Christmas doesn't come from a store..It comes from family...It comes from Jesus....

I have to admit..I thought it was really cute!!

And since this year was my first year to actually watch The Polar Express...you can bet next year will be about believing!! I'm already excited!!

So we sat out our cookies..our Santa prefers Oreos and chocolate milk...and tucked our little into bed and she slept while I tracked Santa fly around the world.
I think I was more excited about that than Lyla was.

When she was finally out like a light...Gregg and I moved all the presents under the tree and even put a little "extra" one under her little tree in her room just for good measure.

Then off to sleep ...to wait the morning....

Welcome 2012

Wow...where did 2011 go?
I know if you have been out blog hopping you have probably read that line on every blog you've seen...but for me it is the total truth!!

Seems like 2011 just went right by like a blink of an eye!! Thank goodness I take TONS of pictures!!

Lots of good things happened in 2011...and I know to expect even bigger and better things with 2012!

We spent our New Years Eve together just as our little family...
we laid around and was completely lazy for probably a little to long...but it was fun
Then we went into town and ate at Chili's for dinner and shopped a little

Then we went over to our friends house Trish and Tyson..who have two little girls that love to play with Lyla and Lyla absolutely adores going over there...
but to our suprise Trish's mom "MiMi" was still in town from New York!

She was wonderful to talk to!! She sure set us straight on a few things and stepped on our toes a bit..but we needed it...and we all know she was right.

She told us how much emotion has been lost since the use of cell phones.
It's true.

Gregg and I even mentioned that we tell each other that we love each other more through a text message...than we do in person...
and Gregg added that it has even gotten shorter ...from "I LOVE YOU" to "luv u"

It's true...
We do love each other...
but you do lose the emotion and connection through a text message

So I said my New Year Resolution would be to CALL people more...not just cop out with text messaging..

Then they showed me where they went to Wal Mart to buy a kit to learn how to crochet...
so my second New Year Resolution is to learn how to crochet more (when I am going to have time for that ..I don't know...but I'll try)

We love going over there and enjoying each other's company..we always have a good time..and Lyla always sleeps so well when we get back home! :)

We brought in our New Year with Gregg moaning that his stomach hurt because he absolutely stuffed himself at Chili's ..then again at Trish's....Lyla was sleeping....and I was praying that God continue to bless us as much this year as he has the last year....

where did december go?

I have tried to be good and update my blog..but it seems like i never have time to sit down...more or less time to sit and think..then on top of that time to sit and think and actually write a post...

it almost makes me laugh out loud!

Last night was one of those dreaded nights where you are always in fear of getting thrown up on so there is really no reason to even lay down...so today baby girl and I stayed home.

Lyla has been weak but trying to play a little bit..I have been cleaning so hopefully I can stop the dreaded cycle of virus before it starts....We shall see..

With this post.I am just going to continue to update with all my pictures..I am so horrible at taking pictures..and I take thousands...then i upload them all at one time...it is pathetic I know...it is a mom confession of mine!!

He did it..after four years..

Well...I lasted four years...

After four years my husband finally managed to get me out in the woods to help him move a tree stand....

Once he dressed me in camo and leafy pants..and made me smell like dirt ....which I think...was just for fun for him...We went out into the woods.

It was actually kind of enjoyable

It was quiet

relaxing

Would I do it at 4am?

no

but being the blogger I am

Friday after school lyla and I pulled up in the driveway like always. I walked around to her side of the truck ... Got her out and just had a good ol feeling to throw a pile of leaves on her!

It was an instant war!! I'm so glad that we can have fun in an instant.. Memories were surely made in that moment ... I know it won't last long. She will be to old and mature to play in the leaves with mom.
