True Beauty

If you have read my blog long enough then you would know that I have had a burden to homeschool Lyla since she was about 3. She is so interested in learning and I feel like if we could focus on that interest then she would go so far in life. Also this momma thinks about the things you get exposed to in public schools. The character traits of others that are not acceptable but can't helped to be picked up if you are with them all day....The words that a child should not know...The innocence that could be lost in a moment .. when I am not there...and can not explain ..I can not fix. Once that innocence is lost.. it's gone.. forever.

Although there is a few things that my child has already picked up and learned that I am not happy about.. we have gotten to the stage of "boyfriends" and "who likes who". We are asking about makeup and jewelry.

I ask why she thinks she needs all that...she is to young. She says so she can look good and be beautiful.

So I go straight to the Bible to get something.. anything.. that will grab her attention and let her know that God made her without jewelry and makeup ...and she is perfect just the way she is.

So here is the lesson we are learning right now:

1 Peter 3:3-4

³ Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. ⁴ Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.

Your beauty is your spirit, your character, your joy, your friendship to others, your love for those that are unloving, your faith, your prayer life
Your beauty does not come from gold, glitter and all things that sparkle. Yes, they are nice and lovely to look at..but it does not make your beautiful.

You are beautiful .. just being You.

Slow Down Sunday

This whole time change thing is rough on  my little girl!

Slow Down Sunday

so today i am really now slowing down either...

my mom and step dad are coming over to finish laying the rest of my flooring and all the border that goes around it.

So that way i can have MY house back....back to normal!

the past few days have been crazy! and disorganized!

i don't know which laundry is clean or dirty..so i have alot of laundry to do

there is dust everwhere from cutting all those boards..

everything is out of place..

but

i got new floors

which we needed

and i LOVE!

so I thank God!

Slow Down Sunday

Well..i had really planned on starting my own meme called Slow Down Sunday.
Where i wanted to hear everyone's stories and maybe encourage some families to take some time out of the busy day to day life and slow down to hang with family..or friends..or just yourself!

This is week one..and i hope it catches on..because we all know that we get caught up sometimes and forget to slow down.

but..my week one..

wasn't very slow...
after church today i get a text message from my mom..that said "we will be over in a couple hours..we are ripping out all your carpet and getting your laminate flooring!"

what?

like..now?

awesome..so i got to work on emptying out rooms...we are doing the scrapbooking room and our master bedroom!

my sunday was still spent with family..and we enjoyed every minute of it...but it was a busy one!

Sunday Seven

seems like i have been so busy that i haven't had time to blog..i have had to catch up on America's Got Talent...ate with family ...did some laundry...and scrapped a little bit.

So I am making time for my blog right before i go to bed....

1. it just started down pouring...it has been thundering and lightning for a while now...i like storms...when my husband is home with me.

2. church was amazing today...God really moved...two great sermons...A. stop just being smoke..and start blasting away for God...B. When God opens a door...run through it with everything you have cause on the other side is the presence of Jesus!

3. I wanna go fishing

4. I need to go visit my dad

5. I am cleaning up my scrappy room and making it suitable to actually craft in...i am feeling the mojo

6. I found a good list that I need to focus on... God first, husband second, children third, family and friends fourth, housecleaning fifth, voluntering when you have time....sometimes i get those all confused!

7. My goal this week is to pray like i have never prayed before and see what happens...i want to hear from God..to know that he is there with me...maybe to hear what he wants me to do ...
