Halloween 2014.. successful!

Last night for All Hallows Eve 2014 Lyla went dressed up as Elsa from FROZEN. Suprised? There were approximately 658 other Elsa's strolling around..but I am pretty partial to mine, especially since I spent $30 on that dress thinking she might look a little different than every other Elsa...
But..
Arkansas decided to have a cold front sweep in ON Halloween night so everyone was wearing jackets.
The $30 dress.. covered up.. most of the night!

Moving on..

Our town has a wonderful walking trail where all the groups from the High School set up "stations" and decorate them how they want...the kids walk along the walking trail and the High Schoolers just load thier bags up with candy.. It is absolutely wonderful! and safe!

I have to say I am pretty proud of her Elsa inspired hair. We put baby powder in it to make it white then sprayed the hair spray glitter on it. It was magical!

At the end of the end of the walking trail you go through City Hall.. which was all decorated as The Emerald City. Super cool!

Lyla and I would read a chapter from the Wizard of Oz book every night before bed. She was very into it and we finished the book. So to actually walk into the Emerald City was pretty amazing!

Of course it all started with a Yellow Brick Road.

The Cowardly Lion turned out to be Lyla's Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Kinslow. This was serioulsy the highlight of Lyla's night....and turned out to be mine as well. Mrs Kinslow told me she tested Lyla's reading level and she scored at a Level 10. Which was Chinese to me until she told me that they START first grade at a Level 6! Wow!! So now Mrs Kinslow is going to let her go to the library to check out her own books to read. Once she finishes reading that book she can take a test on it and then pick out another one to read.

Proud Momma Moment!

The last stop is the Fire Station.. they had the smoke machine going and you had to walk through the station in the smoke. What a cool picture!

After the walking trail .. we hit a few safe houses to Trick or Treat at.. then ran by Taco Bell for some late supper. I look over to ask what my Ice Queen wanted and found this:

What's been going on...

First and foremost I wanna say that ......

Second ....Halloween!
Lyla had a great time! I didn't think that she would really get the concept of trick or treating...but I must have underestimated her!!
She was a little nervous about all the ugly scary costumes...but she seen a teenager dressed up like Minnie Mouse and thought she was the real Minnie Mouse..so that made her night!
Everytime we went to a door to get candy ...when we got back to the truck she would yell to her daddy..."I GOT MORE CANDY!"
It was really cute!
She was a pirate....

I have to say though i was really disappointed in all the ADULTS that were trick or treating...WITH NO KIDS!!
I mean Come On! If you are just wanting a hand out..go to the Food Bank...This is a holiday for the kids...stop being selfish!
ok..enough of that..moving on!

Third...
I have seriously researching different things that i would like to become a consultant for. I have looked at many many many many many different companies...compared them to each other..asked a million questions...thought and thought...asked my husband and friends...and
still I am sitting here looking at so many things....thinking...
which one would be the better business deal?
which one would i have FUN doing?
I just don't know...the one that is on the top of my list is a home decor business called At Home America...is that a good choice? Will it sell?
I don't know.
Then you have to have at least $160 to $180 to purchase your kit to start.
That is alot when you dont' even know if it will work out?..
But they are having a deal where i can purchase my kit for $1 and if i sell $1000 within my first 35 days...I can keep my kit for $1...but if i don't hit my quota then they will take out $178 from my account.
Do i risk it?
Can i do it?
ugh!

Fourth:
Lyla has been yucky sick here lately...i think we are cutting teeth..well i know we are because she is old enough now to tell me that her teeth hurt...but it has completely messed up her stomach...everything just runs right through her...and her sinuses are going crazy because our weather doesn't know what it is going to do..so the poor thing...just has it bad right now..which makes me have it bad too! So I am praying that the tooth pops through..the weather gets better..and we can get some sleep!

Fifth and last:
My church is having a Fall Festival..it is our first...and i am superexcited about it..
I signed up to help...do whatever i can to make it work! So i was asked to make the signs for the game since i have a wonderful machine called a Cricut!

Except when my mom and stepdad came over to rip up carpet and put in laminate flooring...I have NO IDEA where the power cord to my Cricut went!!
I don't know if you know much about a Cricut....but
IT WON'T WORK WITHOUT A POWER CORD!!
I have ripped my house apart...looked in places that I KNOW it can't be...
and I can not find it anywhere...
therefore i can't make signs for our fall festival...we are trying to wait as long as we can to make them hoping that God will lay the power cord in front of me sometime  before Thursday...but I hate to say that I don't see if happening..and I feel like a complete nim-ca-poop!

So...let's hope that next week is better...huh?

thanks!

Halloween Decor Ideas

I consider myself a very Godly person...others might not think so..but oh well..anyway..

I LOVE HALLOWEEN!!!

Not that I am going to slowly creep over to the dark side and start practicing witchcraft...but I will dress like one for the fun of it...

I just think Halloween is fun...for the adults and for the kids..the decorations, the candy, and scariness.

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

There are many many myths about All Hallow's Eve....and I find it very intriguing!

So I plan on decorating like no other now that I have my own house to do whatever I want to!!

Here are some of my irrational plans:

glow in the dark pumpkins~

a pumpkin full of suckers for my tricker treaters!

of course a pumpkin lighted walk way..for safety!

i need to buy a bird bath!!

love love love this!!

great for parties!

hubby's to do!!

this is my next crafty project!!

scary bag messages!

place cards for parties

my very own graveyard!

so super cute!!I love the jars of ooey stuff!

candy bar...with pumpkin lanterns

this is SO gonna be me in my front yard on Halloween night...i have already got my costume!!! Tights and all!!!

love this front door scene!

So there you have it..my Halloween list..i think that would make for a pretty scary night!! Add a CD player with some spookey music...some smoke and crazy lights....oooooooooooo
